Blinken in Japan for Gaza-dominated G7 meet

TOKYO: As calls for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict grow, United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Japan on Tuesday( Nov. 7 ) to meet with Group of Seven ( G7 ) foreign ministers.

Following his most recent whirlwind tour of the Middle East, Blinken arrived in Tokyo for the two weeks of debate without making any open remarks.

Since October 7, when Hamas insurgents launched an attack that left 1, 400 dying in Israel, the Israeli government has been relentlessly bombarding Gaza, with the majority of the victims being residents, according to Israeli government.

While Japan, Britain, Italy, Germany, and Canada all abstained, the United States cast a no vote.
