Govt again says it will retain Isoc

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin refuted claims that the Internal Security Operations Command ( Isoc) should be abolished, saying that it is not part of the government’s policy stated to parliament.

Yesterday, Mr. Srettha posted on his X( previously Twitter ) account that the ruling Pheu Thai Party had every right to declare that it would continue to operate.

Mr. Srettha, who also serves as the chairman of Isoc, declared that he would change the firm’s function to better support both democracy and economic growth as well as national security.

He will transform Isoc into a tool to defend people’s fundamental rights and improve financial protection as part of the government ‘ effort to modernize the military forces.

” We are totally aware that Isoc’s task of vanquishing the enemy of the country, which has been its primary goal since the Cold War, is now complete ,” he wrote.

According to Mr. Srettha, Pheu Thai favors progressive change. The group would not choose to make matters worse in the midst of the social issue that has torn the nation apart for the past 20 years. We support the idea of unity, he declared.

However, according to Super Poll, the majority of people think Isoc should not only stay in business but also broaden its responsibilities to protect online safety.

1,210 people aged 18 and older from numerous occupations participated in the crown on the role of Isoc from November 1 to 4.

According to 62.9 % of respondents, the company may broaden its responsibilities to monitor social media threats to national security or computer security. Isoc should continue to exist, according to 51.5 % of respondents, but its administration needs to be improved in order to better serve the needs of the populace.

45.7 % said Isoc brings together organizations that work together for the nation’s security and solidary, while 51.4 % said it has played a crucial role in coping with natural disasters like wildfires and flooding. 42.9 % of respondents also stated that Isoc has upheld national security, combated violence, drugs, and secession, as well as safeguarding the interests of the country.
