PAP must improve how it communicates, highlight differences between its policies and opposition’s: Lawrence Wong

In his speech, Mr. Wong, who has been chosen to serve as the party’s secretary-general, & nbsp, also discussed the change in the PAP leadership. & nbsp,

This is not about me, even though I will be the new president. It’s our desires as well as mine. Not only my view, but both of our ideas ,” he said.

I don’t begin with the supposition that I know anything or have the solutions to all difficulties, Mr. Wong continued.

Instead, I’d rather begin by listening, taking in a variety of viewpoints and opinions, and remaining open to new concepts. I may ultimately have to make a choice.

” In my capacity as president, I will be required to strike a balance and take action that I believe is in the best interests of all Singaporeans.” There will always be some who disagree with me or who won’t be satisfied no matter which method I choose. Additionally, I am aware that I will occasionally had to make difficult but important decisions. & nbsp,

I’ve worked in government for long enough to understand that I can’t win all over. “& nbsp,

Instead of emphasizing differences, Mr. Wong wants to approach authority by finding common ground.

That is how I want to advance Singapore. It entails making sure that everyone benefits from development, not just some. It entails upliftment of all Singaporeans, not just a select few. “& nbsp,

Mr. Wong concluded by saying he was prepared for his upcoming project. & nbsp,

The group of 4G leadership is prepared to take the lead, he continued, adding,” I won’t be in this together.” & nbsp,

Older PAP people have been fantastic role models and mentors, and they will continue to support the 4G leadership, he added.
