A participant in a well-liked American edition of Big Brother has been detained for showing up to the set of the show wearing an anklet made of cat claws.
Businessman Varthur Santhosh was detained on October 22 while appearing on the reality TV series Big Boss in Kannada.
He has been accused of wearing and displaying an animal piece, which is a crime in India.
According to the officers, Mr. Santhosh informed them that the chandelier was a community heritage.
Mr. Santhosh appeared on the well-liked TV show wearing the pendent on a substantial golden chain, according to the forest department in the southwestern Indian state of Karnataka, which said they had been contacted by the public.
According to Bengaluru Urban Deputy Conservator of Forests N Ravindrakumar, the pendent was” confirmed that it was a cat claw when we checked it.”
Police claimed that Mr. Santhosh told them during doubting that the chandelier had been in his family for generations even though he hasn’t yet made a public speech.
Displaying pet parts is a crime punishable by three to seven years in prison under India’s wildlife protection legislation.

Tiger populations have increased steadily since 2006. According to the federal government’s cat population report from last year, there are now 3, 167 tigers in India, which is 200 more than there were in 2018.
However, it also stated that” serious conservation work” were needed in states like Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh and that the local cat population had vanished in a number of locations, including some reserves.
