Afghanistan defeated Pakistan in one-day baseball for the first time by executing their best-ever fight in a World Cup drama.

With eight innings and six extra balls, Afghanistan managed to reach their goal of 283 thanks to Ibrahim Zadran’s 87, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, 65, and Rahmat Shah, who scored an unbroken 77.

Holders England are at the bottom of the table as Afghanistan is currently in seventh place.

Captain Babar Azam earlier scored 74 from 92 balls, bringing Pakistan’s total to 282 – 7.

With a 3 – 49, Teenager Noor Ahmad was the best of the Afghanistan batsmen.

With a total of 282 – 4 to surpass their previous record-breaking successful pursuit of 276 – 8 required to defeat United Arab Emirates in 2014, it is Afghanistan’s first victory over Pakistan in ODIs at the eighth test.
