Police investigating after near-collision between cyclists, taxi on Middle Road leads to confrontation

SINGAPORE: A picture of a heated altercation between several path cyclists and the ComfortDelGro taxi driver went viral on Saturday, October 21, and police are now looking into it.

The officers responded to questions from TODAY by stating that they were made aware of a call for help at the intersection of Victoria Street and Middle Road at around 8.30 am on Saturday.

Five bikers can be seen riding in the three-lane road’s center and left roads behind the azure vehicle, according to film posted to the Facebook team SG Road Vigilante.

The taxi finally comes to an abrupt stop in front of a traffic light, on one car’s length from the oncoming car.

This abrupt action almost results in a motion between one of the riders and the taxi’s back. The team is then seen encircling the taxi to challenge the driver. & nbsp,

The two parties may be heard hurling insults at one another throughout the discussion in a split video that was reportedly shot by one of the riders.

You see you jam brakes, the vehicle in front( of his car ) is so far away, one rider is overheard asking the car driver why he had suddenly braked.

The taxi driver is then overheard yelling obscenities at the passengers and saying,” You don’t need to ask me why I jam brake ,” before advancing past the front of the car.

Therefore, a second rider wearing gray can be seen riding his bicycle to the ground.

A 41-year-old person suffered minor injuries, according to the authorities, but he refused to be taken to a doctor.
