SINGAPORE: To stop a year-end increase in dengue cases, The & nbsp, National Environment Agency ( NEA) has urged the public to take” urgent collective action to control mosquito breeding.”
The & nbsp reported that the number of reported dengue cases has” increased steadily ,” reaching a peak of more than 300 cases in the final three weeks of September, according to the organization’s press release from Thursday( Oct 19 ). & nbsp,
In the first and second weeks of October, both, there were 266 and 215 reported cases of mosquito.
According to NEA,” Extended action and vigilance remain crucial, as regular dengue cases remain high ,” and that warmer than usual weather from the El Nino phenomenon in the upcoming month may make the situation worse.
It forewarned that Singapore might begin the following year with an unusually high number of weekly mosquito circumstances” if the range keep great.”
This was the situation in 2019 and 2021, when the number of year-end dengue cases was large and led to significant outbreaks of the disease in the years that followed, according to NEA.
