On Bangkok’s Red and Purple energy train lines, a 20-baht level menu went into effect at 11 am yesterday.

The Red Line’s Central Station is located at Krung Thep Aphjiwat Central Terminal, where the charge was introduced monday.

Suriya Jungrungreangkit, the minister of transportation, stated that there would be no operational issues with the new fare, according to the State Railway of Thailand( SRT ) and Mass Rapid Transit Authority ( MRTA ).

With the flat-rate suffer now in place, it was anticipated that at least 100,000 people would use the Red and Purple lines every day.

Taling Chan and Rangsit are connected by 13 channels on the 41-kilometer SRT-operated Red Line, and Khlong Bang Phai is connected to 16 facilities by the 23-kilometre MRT’s Purple Line.

Prior to the smooth rate, commuters had to pay between 14 and 42 ringgit on the Purple Line and 12 to 42 for the Red Line.

On the whole way of either line, passengers are only permitted to pay a flat rate of 20 baht.

But, commuters who switch between the two lines while traveling must now pay the 20-baht fare double.

According to Mr. Suriya, a software program is being developed so riders can connect without doing this. He stated that it was anticipated that this would be finished by November 1.

Manaporn Charoensri, the deputy transport secretary, stated that the government must devote 130 million baht a year to fund the flat-fare policy, which costs 20.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said she was pleased with how fast the plan had come to pass after yesterday’s weekly case meeting.

According to Mr. Srettha, he has given the ministry the go-ahead to develop a strategy for enforcing related regulations on other city electric train lines.

According to Suthep Punthupeng, CEO of SRT Electrified Train Co., Red Line individuals who purchase particular tickets will continue to enjoy the same benefits.

He continued,” The agency will evaluate the benefits and efficiency of the flat rate every year.”
