SINGAPORE: A private-hire car driver was given a nine-week prison term on Monday( Oct. 9 ) for having sex with an 18-year-old girl.
Based on the girl’s online ad and the fact that she claimed to have a child to take care of, Lee Lai Soon, 31, estimated her age to be around 18.
Lee admitted to engaging in business intercourse with a slight on one count.
According to the judge, the girl claimed she needed money to support herself and her unborn baby when she spoke with an unnamed adviser in 2022.
She enquired as to whether he had any well-paying positions to suggest, and if she was interested in offering physical services.
Full sexual services, according to the agent, would cost the client S$ 500 ( US$ 365 ), of which S$ 100 would be paid to him as commission.
He advised the woman to have sex with him if she did not want to give the broker the payment.
Lee joined a Telegram group chat that promoted physical service before August 2022. He was intrigued after seeing an advertisement for” xmm” or” xiao meimei” that offered such services.
He requested costs and images from the agent, and was told that a sexual act would cost S$ 250.
Lee made a reservation with the realtor for the girl’s services in September 2022.
He picked up the girl in his car and gave her S$ 250 second. & nbsp,
He told the girl in his home that he wanted to have sex, which had cost him an additional S$ 300.
Lee had intercourse with the child without checking her age or asking her for it.
She then asked him for the extra S$ 300 after that. Before taking her back to her pick-up spot, he drove her to a local ATM to withdraw the money.
In May of this year, the police searched Lee’s home and detained him after determining that he was involved in a case of rural sex communication.
The attorney requested nine weeks in jail, noting that for cases typically resulted in prison terms.
Lee didn’t have a lawyer.
He said,” I want to say that at that point in time, I did not check( her age ) because when I search for the service, it is stated as’ xiao mei me’, so I thought around 18″.
She even informed me that she needed to take care of a baby, so I didn’t give it much thought. I realize I made a miscalculation, Lee said.
To take care of work-related issues, he was given a year’s deferment.
He could have been fined, jailed for up to seven years, or both for obtaining the erotic services of a slight in exchange for payment.
