Three additional suspects — two men and a woman — were detained yesterday in Bangkok and Prachuap Khiri Khan on suspicion of selling bullets to the 14-year-old boy who went on the rampage inside the Siam Paragon shopping center last week.
One of the suspects was detained yesterday at a residence on Soi Phetkasem 94 in the Bang Khae city by Pol Lt Gen Thiti Saengsawang, the Metropolitan Police Bureau’s director, and investigators from Yannawa. The think, Phassornkorn” Nikki” Thianthanwit, 27, was wanted on a Friday permit from the Bangkok South Criminal Court for assisting in the illegal sales of weapons. Authorities seized two firearms during the arrest, an automatic Glock pistol and a Smith & amp, Wesson revolver, along with 2,765 rounds of various types of ammunition.
Wutthiphong Phetmanee and Suthida Paenghom, two additional suspects, were also apprehended yesterday in Prachuap Khiri Khan’s Bang Saphan Noi city. While Ms. Suthida turned herself in to authorities at Bang Saphan Noi place, Mr. Wutthiphong was detained behind a house. The Bangkok South Criminal Court had issued warrants for the illegal selling of ammunition, and both were sought after.
In contrast to Ms. Suthida, who claimed to have opened a Krungthai Bank bill six years prior in order to receive child welfare benefits, Mr. Wutthiphong disclosed to the authorities that he had been hired to open an account with the Government Savings Bank for 1, 000 baht. She claimed that her father eventually received money transfers from other people using her account.
Three males were detained on Thursday in Yala and Bangkok on suspicion of giving the girl suspect weapons and firearms. Piyabut Pianpithak, 31, was arrested in Bangkok, while Suwananhong Phramkhanajarn, 45, and his 22-year-old boy Akkharawit Jaithong were detained at a home in Yala. To request their confinement, the three suspects were taken to the Bangkok South Criminal Court. Bail for all of them was opposed by the authorities.
Mr. Suwananhong and his brother were subject to arrest warrants for selling firearms and ammunition without authorization and illegally possessing weapons. For empty guns, 33 steel components, two bank accounts, nine newspapers, and other things, they seized 209 rounds of ammunition.
