The taxpayer-supported Fund for the Development of Political Parties has given the Move Forward Party almost 40 million ringgit this year, the highest amount of money by way among all parties in the nation.

When completing their yearly personal income tax return, each taxpayer has the option of choosing a payment of 500 baht to the celebration of their choice. The funds are placed in the bank and distributed to the events.

In the 2022 tax season, Move Forward received 39.99 million ringgit from 83, 733 sponsors, up from 27.56 million from 634 donors the previous year. The Pheu Thai Party came in second with 4.6 million ringgit from 11, 904 donors, while the amount represented 72 % of all money distributed.

In the May 14 vote, Move Forward received 14.4 million seats, compared to Pheu Thai’s 11.9 million. However, due to steadfast opposition to its reform agenda, especially proposals to improve the stability – majeste law, it was unable to type a government. Its 151 users are currently seated in opposition to the 141-member Pheu Thai Party-led state.
