SINGAPORE: Since the implementation of the box return policy, table cleaning requirements at coffee shops have no decreased, according to Grace Fu, minister for sustainability and the environment.
In a written parliamentary response on Tuesday( Sep 19 ), she added,” The rate of feedback received on table cleanliness in coffee shops has decreased.”
Ms. Fu was responding to a problem from MP Jamus Lim( WP – Sengkang ) who inquired as to whether there had been any reduction in the cleaning requirements for furniture in coffee shops since the requirement for customers to gain their used plates and dinnerware.
For stall centers, the regulations have been in place since September 1, 2021, and for coffee shops and food judges, they were put into effect on January 1st, 2022.

First-time offenders will be given a written warning, and repeat offenders will have to pay an S$ 300 ( US$ 220 ) composition fine or face legal action.
