SINGAPORE: The prosecution offered a S$ 15, 000 ( US$ 9, 540 ) bail to the former preschool teacher who had been charged with hitting and roughhousing students at the Kinderland preschool in Woodlands on Wednesday( Sept 13 ).
On June 30 of this year, Lin Min, 33, was formally charged with mistreating a 23-month-old child by making the child lay down and putting water in her mouth.
Her actions were captured on camera, including Lin putting her hand on the woman’s face to stop her from moving and then dousing the crying child in water.
Additionally, a court order was issued to safeguard the names of the patients.
After a police report was filed regarding the series of videos that showed Lin reportedly abusing the younger children in her care, the girl was detained on the evening of August 29.
These films, which were later posted on Facebook, showed Lin roughhousing the kids while attempting to persuade them to drink water.
Lin was remanded to the Institute of Mental Health ( IMH ) after her initial legal proceedings were over, where she underwent psychiatric evaluation.
On Wednesday, Lin appeared in court wearing a white T-shirt and glasses as the prosecution offered S$ 15,000 in bond.
The prosecutors requested a four-week postponement for the investigation to continue even though the IMH evaluation has concluded and claimed that Lin may be facing more related charges.
