
SINGAPORE: A guy who belonged to a Telegram channel that shared sexual content and felt” fear of missing out” decided to post pictures and videos of women he had met in the past through dating apps. & nbsp,
Don Weng Kai Jun, 23, wanted to imply that the sufferer and the person in the sex videos were the same person even though they had nothing to do with each other.
Weng noticed the victim’s nails resembled that of the woman in the erotic movie at this point. & nbsp,
Users of the Telegram stream, which at the time had 25, 390 members, discovered the victim’s contact information as a result of his posting, and four to five men set her up for physical services.
Weng, a Navy regular at the time, admitted guilt on Tuesday( Sept. 12 ) to two counts: transmitting obscene material and making an insulting communication that could lead to harassment. & nbsp,

The target and Weng reportedly met through the dating app Bumble in November of last year, according to the jury. After their meal date, they stopped communicating with one another. Neither gathering encountered any conflict or debate. & nbsp,

Weng was watching video on a website on February 3 of this year when he snatched up an image of the back of an employed person performing sexual acts. Her mouth was hidden. & nbsp,
The trial claimed that because both the victim and the adult issue in the video had white-painted nails, the latter reminded the accused of the former. & nbsp,
Weng finally gained access to the murderer’s Instagram account and saved five images of her, three of which completely displayed her mouth. & nbsp,
In order to give the false impression that the sufferer and the woman in the movie were the same person, he posted the victims’ photos as well as the over-a-minute-long vulgar video to the Telegram channel. & nbsp,
The accused allegedly claimed to have carried out his actions because he” feared missing out” by failing to contribute to the Telegram network. The accused was aware that his actions may lead others to believe the target was the subject of the video.
She was informed about the video by a friend of the victim who was also on the same channel. The friend also sent her the message’s screen capture and Weng, her Telegram username, & nbsp, which she recognized. & nbsp,
The target asked Weng why he had sent her pictures and the film to the network a week after the vulgar material was posted, but He did not respond. He subsequently deleted his Telegram consideration, the video, and the photos. & nbsp,
According to the trial,” other members of the Telegram channel immediately identified the target and provided her with her Telgram call information.” On Telegram andnbsp, four to five neighbors messaged the sufferer, asking if she was the subject of the picture and how much it would cost to have intercourse with her overnight.
On February 16 of this year, the victim reported to the police, saying:” My pictures( were) tagged to a leaked video tape online on the Telegram route… However, I wasn’t the people in the audio that was leaked. The man, Don Weng, who works as a standard in the Navy, and I only ever met for dinner after.
She also clarified that she wasn’t the subject of the movie in a post on Instagram.
On March 8 of this year, Weng was summoned by the officers, and it was at that point that he understood the seriousness of the situation. He apologized and sent a message to the target admitting what he had done. & nbsp,
Prosecutor DISPUTES THE CHARACTERISTICS OF DEFENCE
According to Weng’s attorney Foo Cheow Ming, this was not a situation where there was” business profit.” & nbsp,
He continued by saying that neither the production of 25, 000 copies of the internet nor the number of Telegram group members who had seen it were supported by any evidence.
The photos and video, however, had been left on Telegram for a month, District Judge Prem Raj noted. & nbsp,
Weng was from the Navy, and any prison time would have an impact on his coming, according to a section of the reduction that the judge finally cited.
” I’m a little bit troubled by how the offense is characterised as an instance of misguided playfulness ,” the judge said to Mr. Foo. Your customer is a grownup.

If Weng had” feared missing out ,” why hadn’t he just uploaded the video without the photos? & nbsp,
Otherwise, the judge noted that Weng had visited the defendant’s Instagram page, collected her photos, and then uploaded both the picture and the images to Telegram, demonstrating malice.
In reply, Mr. Foo stated that he would remove the pertinent information from his moderation and that his client was” wracked with regret” over his poor decision.
On October 19, Weng may appear in court again for a imprisonment. & nbsp,
Weng could receive a fine of up to S$ 5, 000 ( US$ 3, 672 ) for sending an offensive message. & nbsp,
He could receive a three-month sentence in prison, been fined, or both for spreading offensive stuff.
