China has praised a joint declaration made by the G20 leaders in Delhi that claims it has” sent the earth” the right message.
Without a solitary dissenting note, the world’s largest economy officially adopted the mutual declaration on Sunday at the G20 summit in India.
China claimed that the speech reflected its opinions and demonstrated how the G20 was collaborating to address global issues and advance growth.
Beijing has not previously commented on the announcement.
The combined speech, which avoids denouncing Russia, a crucial strategic alliance of China, for its war against Ukraine, has received praise from several other nations, including the UK and the US. The declaration has been hailed as a” milestone” by Russia as well. However, Ukraine, which was not present at the conference, has expressed dissatisfaction with the declaration, calling it” nothing to be happy of.”
Premier Li Qiang presided over China’s mission at the summit after President Xi Jinping abstained. A border dispute that resulted in a collision three years ago in which 20 American and four Chinese soldiers were killed has caused tensions between China and India to be high.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning stated in a press conference on Monday that the G20 has always been supported by China and that its members if” remain in solidarity and collaborate on international issues.”
She was responding to a query about Beijing’s opinions of the height and its results from the China News Service.
According to Ms. Ning, the summit” adopted a leaders’ declaration that reflects China’s proposal and states that the G20 would act in practical ways through partnerships, sending the message that they are working together to address global issues and advance world socioeconomic recovery and international development.”
In order to achieve” fruitful outcomes ,” she continued, China had contributed positively and” supported the summit in attaching importance to the concerns of developing countries.”
In comparison to the language used in Bali last year to criticize Russia’s deeds in Ukraine, the mutual declaration issued in Delhi uses more restrained language.
The majority of G20 members expressed their” strongest regret” for the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine in Bali.
The Delhi announcement, in contrast, talks about” the people suffering and damaging added effect of the conflict in Ukraine with regard to global food and energy protection” without specifically mentioning Russia.
In addition to urging states to” abstain from the threat or use of force to get regional consolidation,” which could be interpreted as being directed at Russia, it likewise mentions” different viewpoints and assessments of the condition.”
At the press conference on Monday, Ms. Ning was questioned about whether China agreed with” the lack of direct criticism” in the charter and whether it believed the use of softer speech would contribute to the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
She retorted that the announcement” reflected the common understanding of all people” and that China’s place on the Ukraine problem was” steady and clear.”
Ms. Ning continued,” The Delhi Summit reaffirms that the G20 is the leading platform for global financial assistance, not a system to solve political and security issues.”
According to her, China would continue to support peace negotiations and collaborate with the global community to achieve the political resolution of the Ukraine crisis.
