According to the government, approval may be granted within a month for those housing their employees in purpose-built dormitories, temporary occupation license quarters, or their own dorms.
Due to more checks, the approval process for those who are housing their employees in private residences, hotels, or hostels may take six weeks or longer.
Employers may have their work go privileges suspended if they bring their employees to Singapore without the necessary proof of hotel, according to MOM.
Since December 2022, Singapore’s supply has increased by about 17, 000 dorm rooms as a result of government and business attempts, but MOM claimed that this level of supply growth cannot continue.
As a result, the government urged employers to contribute to the source of beds by constructing temporary housing for their employees, such as temporary residences for construction, temporary occupation license quarters, or factory-turned dormitories.
