Sutin reveals ‘other options’ to solve Chinese submarine engine issue

According to Defence Minister Sutin Klungsang, various options are being considered to address the issue of the military’s submarine procurement, such as a trade trade deal or purchasing fertilizers from China in place of an actual submarine.

He was speaking at a lecture on political and Thai protection that was yesterday organized by the College of Social Innovation at Rangsit University.

When questioned about the military’s problem with its submarine engines, Mr. Sutin responded that he had instructed it to consider whether the procurement was needed.

According to Mr. Sutin, the army had hold talks with China to come up with a solution if it disapproves of Chinese-made engines. This could entail purchasing surface ships or canceling the contract and importing fertilizer from China for less money.

Different choices, like a trade deal offer, should be taken into account. However, we still need to consider whether these choices are permissible under the rules.

But, Mr. Sutin stated that the issue cannot be resolved and that additional discussions are required to come to a better conclusion.

We might speak with China and request fertilizers. The prime minister did take the issue into account, Mr. Sutin said.

On the website to be used in Thailand’s fresh underwater that is being assembled in China, Mr. Sutin recently expressed his optimism that the approaching government will be able to approach a new deal with Germany and China.

When asked about the possibility of the government negotiating with Berlin for a European website to be installed in the China-made bomber, as first requested by the Royal Thai Navy, Mr. Sutin responded,” A gain – gain for all three factors.”

Initially scheduled for this month, the S26T Yuan-class submarine has been delayed until next April due to the pandemic.

After Germany refused to sell its MTU 396 diesel engine to China because it is classified as a military-defense item, China Shipbuilding & amp, Offshore International Co ( CSOC ), which is contracted to build the submarine in accordance with the G2G agreement, offered the CHD620 engine.

On Wednesday, when he shows up for work at the Defense Ministry, specifics of defense reform should be clearer, according to him.
