Japan PM Kishida set to reshuffle cabinet on Sep 13: Report

TOKYO: Public broadcaster NHK reported on Friday( Sep 8 ) that Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will change his government on September 13.

Kishida’s approval ratings have decreased as a result of several government errors that have prevented the government from implementing its plan to combine duty and social security information into one identification cards.

Masatoshi Akimoto, a past leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, was detained on Thursday on suspicion of accepting bribes, which brought more bad information.

” The arrest of a parliamentarian makes me very sad. On the outside of a regional summit meeting on Thursday in Indonesia, Kishida said,” I think as politicians we must concentrate on the task at hand with vigilance.”

Akimoto allegedly denied the accusations during a free discussion with investigators, according to the Asahi magazine.

In a poll conducted by the Yomiuri newspaper in late August, 50 % of respondents opposed Kishida’s leadership while 35 % supported it.

56 percent of voters believed Kishida may re-establish his cabinet and unseat the ruling party’s top executives.
