Pedestrian gets jail for injuring motorcyclist while dashing across road to catch bus

SINGAPORE: A man sprinted across a three-lane road in an attempt to find brisk traffic, continuing to run even as he came across an approaching motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider was struck by his suitcase, which caused him to fall off and sustain three bones.

Hu Zhangwen, a 48-year-old Chinese national, admitted guilt to one count of hurting someone by acting hastily and endangering human life on Friday( Sep 8 ). He was sentenced to three weeks in prison.

The jury learned that Hu, a woodworker who created wooden figurines, had finished his work on February 28, 2022, and was en route back.
