New arrest warrant for Itthipol

For original culture secretary Itthipol Khunpluem and two other suspects sought by regulators in connection with the unlawful development of a condo complex in Pattaya, the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases has issued new arrest permits.

According to a cause, the suspects’ exit date is noted on the new arrest warrants, ensuring that the statute of limitations for the case does not run out before they are brought to justice. This Sunday marks the expiration of the suspects’ first halt permits.

The decision was made in response to a suggestion made on Wednesday by Khamnueng Wongthaweesap, executive director of the Attorney General’s ( OAG ) Region 2 division.

He requested new arrest warrants for Mr. Itthiphol and the other two suspects, along with the date they allegedly evaded authorities, from the National Anti-Corruption Commission ( NACC ) secretary general.

The Corruption and Misconduct Procedures Act’s statute of limitations does not apply to people who evade an effective arrest warrant, so this addition is essential.

Mr. Itthipol is sought after for his part in approving the building of Waterfront Suites and Residences in Pattaya in September 2008, when he served as the mayor of the city.

According to a cause, the new arrest warrants will be in effect until the defendants are apprehended or turn themselves in.

Mr. Itthiphol, 50, is accused of wrongdoing under Part 157 of the Criminal Code, which carries a one to ten-year prison term.

The original Pattaya president served as the tradition minister up until recently after being appointed to Prayut Chan o cha’s second government in July 2019. He is likewise Sonthaya Kunpluem’s younger brother, a former governor of Pattaya.

On August 3, the NACC filed the situation with the OAG, and on August 30, the attorney general ordered Mr. Ittiphol’s prosecution.

At the base of Phra Tamnak Hill, close to Pattaya Bay and Bali Hai Pier, the Waterfront property task was constructed on two ray( 3,200 square meters ) of property. The building has been given a demolition order because its licence was obtained illegally.
