India’s fertility rate faces sharp decline amid rising concern over lifestyle factors, infertility

We can develop healthcare systems and make them easier to access, according to Dr. Sabine Kapasi, global strategy lead of the UN’s emergency response team, so that if a person or couple chooses to receive fertility treatment, it does not become financially burdensome for them or cause the family to spiral downward.

In India, where tens of millions of people live in poverty, in vitro fertilization( IVF ) treatment costs start at about US$ 1, 200, which is out of reach for many.

Even if these procedures are more widely available, there is still the issue of how highly natural fertility is valued ethnically in India.

According to physicians, there is societal discrimination and misunderstandings surrounding IVF treatment in India.

Because of this, some people are compelled to keep their IVF pregnancy a secret from their close relatives.
