SINGAPORE: The proprietor of a karaoke bar assisted his friends in bribing the policeman by setting up an appointment and giving him an empty red envelope that they filled with S$ 2, 000 ( US$ 1, 480 ) for the cop.
This was done in an effort to” live” a police investigation into the altercation between the affiliates and two rival groups.
Ng Chuan Seng, 52, received a five-week prison term for his crime on Monday( Sep 4 ). Additionally, he received a S$ 1,500 fine for failing to keep track of some KTV employees’ information.
Ng admitted guilt to one count each of aiding corruption and breaking his open pleasure license by failing to keep information of some employees.
A second accusation was considered.
The prosecutor was informed that Ng owned and ran a KTV bar at 149 Geylang Road that was known as B1 Entertainment.

Ng knew Poo Tze Chiang, a 46-year-old place investigator in the Singapore Police Force’s Secret Societies Branch.
When Ng was released from prison in 2013, Poo served as his law supervisor. Poo started frequenting Ng’s restaurant after they” renewed” their friend in 2018, according to Deputy Public Prosecutor David Menon.
One of Ng’s partners revealed to him in September 2019 that he had engaged in combat with two foe groups. The affiliate was concerned that a police investigation would involve him and another man.
