Risk of hazy conditions in Singapore due to Indonesia hotspots: NEA

Singapore: Following an increase in hub activity in Sumatra, Indonesia over the past several days, there is a chance that foggy conditions will affect Singapore. & nbsp,

According to the National Environment Agency( NEA ) in a Facebook post, 23 hotspots were found on Sunday( Sep 3 ) and 28 the day before, mostly over southern Sumatra. & nbsp,

The southern and central Sumatra are anticipated to remain under the current dry conditions for the upcoming year. & nbsp,

According to NEA, this could worsen the hub and smoking haze situation that and increase the likelihood that Singapore will be affected by the conditions. & nbsp,

The organization noted that the smoking plumes are still some distance from Singapore and have not been seen to fall straight there in the presence of strong southeast winds.

At 4 p.m., Singapore’s 24-hour pollutant standards index( PSI ) was in the good to moderate range, between 45 and 76. & nbsp,

NEA added that it is closely observing the condition. Andnbsp, for the past few decades, Indonesia’s bush fires have caused fog in the East Asian region.
