“It is now 13 many years since the scandal found light but 1 question remains unanswered. Who must be held responsible for the procurement of the devices? ” the opposition MP mentioned. “The fraudulent devices not only caused the nation to lose billions of baht, but they were to fault for blast accidents among soldiers plus civilians, ” Mister Jirat said. “Even though the distributor from the device was ordered by the Central Administrative Court last year to pay for 683 million baht in compensation to the army, we are unable to leave it from that. We must bring those who approved the procurement to justice. ”

Gen Anupong, who served since army chief at the time, approved the 12 procurement contracts whilst Gen Prayut, that then served because the army’s chief associated with staff, was purchased to approve among those contracts on behalf of Gen Anupong, Mr Nisan claimed.
