Representatives from China, Japan, South Korea, and Australia are expected to attend a meeting of high-ranking immigration officials from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations( Asean ) in Phuket next week to discuss transborder crimes in the area.
According to Pol Lt Gen Pakphumpipat Sajjaphan, commissioner of the Immigration Bureau, the 26th Asean Directors-General of Immigration Departments and Heads of Consular Affairs Division of Ministries of Foreign Affairs Meeting ( DGICM ) will take place on the island province from August 7 – 11.
According to Pol Lt Gen Pakphumpipat, the DGICM may talk about the abolition of international offences and threats to Thailand’s and its Asian counterparts’ national security.
The DGICM, which was established in 1996, is often attended by the 10 Asean part state and is overseen by Timor-Leste. The celebration is alternately hosted by Asian participants.
The meeting will be held this year by the IB and the RTP on behalf of Thailand so that participants may talk about immigration-related topics.
According to Pol Lt Gen Pakphumpipat,” The primary goal of the DGICM is to enhance participation among Asean users and its spectators for knowledge.”
The main objective of the RTP, according to Pol Lt Gen Pakphumpipat, is” addressing” human trafficking, trafficking, terror, and computer crimes.
Additionally, he stated that the DGICM will adhere to the UN’s low-carbon strategy, which calls for the use of recyclable and green materials in some of the equipment.
According to Pol Lt Gen Pakphumpipat, representatives from 16 nations as well as members of the local and foreign media may be invited to the event, its dinners, and tour of Phuket locations.
