Anutin: Don’t be too concerned about cannabis

Deputy Perfect Minister and Community Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told the home of Representatives upon Tuesday that being overly concerned with marijuana use would just delay national development.

Mister Anutin, who is furthermore leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, was responding to the opposition’s skin motion against your pet over the cannabis decriminalisation policy.

During the debate, opposition chief whip Sutin Klungsang criticised the marijuana legalisation and showed a clip of Mister Anutin telling individuals during a recent election campaign that their party would decriminalise the plant so that the general public could smoke this without facing lawful action.

In response, Mr Anutin told the House that he was only joking at the time. He apologised for the cannabis-smoking remark and promised to be more careful together with his speech.

Mr Anutin insisted that cannabis misuse would not happen during the tenure of this federal government, and he hoped that the relevant law will be passed quickly to regulate cannabis use.

The law would certainly impose penalties towards cannabis abusers plus would also provide more clear regulations on cannabis-infused food, Mr Anutin said.

He stressed how the government has decriminalised cannabis only for as well as economic purposes. The use for recreation did not exist in the policy, he said.
