North Korea fires ballistic missile after US-South Korea drills: Report

SEOUL: South Korea says North Korea has fired a ballistic missile towards its eastern waters, the latest in a barrage of weapons assessments in recent days.

Southern Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff states the launch had been made early on Sunday (Oct 9) but gave no more details like how long the weapon travelled.

The Japanese federal government also says Northern Korea has fired a possible ballistic missile.

The start, the North’s sixth round of weapons tests in a couple weeks, came hours after the United States and South Korea wrapped a brand new round of naval drills off the Korean Peninsula’s east coastline. The drills involved an US aircraft carrier.

Northern Korea’s military warned Saturday that the ALL OF US redeployment of the plane carrier near the Korean Peninsula is causing a “considerably massive negative splash” within regional security.
