PM Lee congratulates Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on election victory

SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has written to his Japan counterpart  Fumio Kishida to congratulate your pet on the  ruling Liberal Democratic Party’s (LDP) victory within Sunday’s parliamentary selection.

Japan’s conservative coalition govt increased its majority within the upper house of parliament ,   two days after the  assassination   of prominent LDP member plus former prime ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) Shinzo Abe.

In a letter went out with Jul 14, Mister Lee said: “While your party’s success comes at a time associated with grief given the recent passing associated with former prime minister Abe Shinzo, the particular election results are a powerful signal of the Japan people’s trust plus confidence in your govt and leadership. ”

He mentioned that  Singapore and Japan have an “excellent and multi-faceted collaboration, underpinned by warm people-to-people ties plus close cooperation across many sectors”.

“During our current meetings in Tokyo and Singapore, all of us expanded collaboration in many areas including digitalisation, innovation and protection. We also agreed to explore further collaboration in the economic sphere and on the full resumption of cross-border vacation, ” wrote Mr Lee.

He added: “I look forward to continue working with you to definitely further enhance our ties. ”
