Shanghai issues another rare extreme heat warning

SHANGHAI: For the third time this summer, Shanghai in china issued its maximum alert for severe heat as temperature ranges appeared set to check records in China’s most populous city on Thursday (Jul 14).

The city of 25 million residents introduced a red notify, indicating temperatures were expected to rise to at least 40 degrees Celsius  (104 Fahrenheit) over the next twenty four hours.

The city provides issued three reddish alerts in the past 5 days, though this is a relatively rare incidence as Shanghai provides issued 17 such alerts since record-keeping began in 1873.

On Wed, the city sweltered as temperatures rose as high as 40. 9 levels Celsius, matching a list set in late July, 2017.
