Business group starts landscaping, some other improvements
Representatives of the downtown area Bangkok businesses gathered at Thaniya Plaza building on Silom road on Wednesday to unveil their particular newly formed We Appreciate Silom Association.
They announced their intention to enhance the footpaths, street lighting and greenery in Bangkok’s perfect business area.
Bangkok Chief excutive Chadchart Sittipunt recognized an invitation to go to the launch.
Organization president Oradee Na Ranong said companies on Silom street attached great significance to improving the landscape.
An opinion survey of approximately 100 people in the area showed most of them wanted more greenery, thoroughly clean footpaths, clearly notable pedestrian crossings and better lighting to guarantee the safety of the open public, she said.
Ms Oradee said plans were then drawn up to make this happen. Focus on the improvements experienced already begun, beginning in June, and really should be completed in 120 days.
The project was being supported by the Boom Rak district workplace, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s public works section and the Thai Health Promotion Foundation.
