The Ratsadon protest group has requested permission to encamp on parliament coffee grounds to monitor the forthcoming no-confidence debate contrary to the government.
Members of the group yesterday arrived at parliament and handed a notice seeking permission from House Speaker Chuan Leekpai to set up camping and monitor the work of lawmakers during the censure debate.
The group mentioned they will also keep an activity for people to cast mock ballots against cabinet ministers targeted in the skin debate.
Phongsri Tharaphum, a member of Mr Chuan’s working panel upon political affairs, approved the letter in the behalf.
Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, the Move Forward Party MEGAPIXEL for Bangkok, backed the move, stating parliament officials need to arrange a place for the group to hold their actions on parliament’s property so they will not take to the streets and cause people problems.
