Two males were arrested in their homes in Bangkok for apparently detaining a foreign businessman and slowly destroying him of a high-class car and other valuables worth 4. 5 million baht last month, police mentioned.
Tharit na Phatthalung, 26, and Petch Boonvong, 44, were apprehended separately at their own houses in Hammer Rak and Bekv?m Phrao districts upon Saturday shortly after law enforcement obtained warrants for arrest.
The pair are accused of collaborating with five other people in threatening a Singaporean with a gun as they forced him out of an enjoyment venue in the Huai Kwang area plus robbed him.
According to police, the group left using the victim’s Porsche and valuables estimated at 4. 5 mil baht. The event took place on the night of June 22.
The business person filed an issue with police who also obtained the warrants for the pair’s police arrest on July nine.
Quoting the victim, law enforcement said the man had known Mr Petch to get five years together socialised with him before he was introduced to Mister Tharit. On the nights the incident, the pair asked in order to borrow some money to pay off gambling debts, law enforcement said.
During questioning, Mr Petch denied he had gambling debts and insisted he still left the venue before the incident. Police mentioned they were still trying to locate the Porsche but that it was most likely with the operator of the gambling website.
Mr Tharit is a son of Thitinart na Phatthalung, author of the once-popular Khem Tid Chiwit (The Lifestyle Compass) book while Mr Petch is an executive of PRX Co, the programmer of PRX Metaverse.
