Singaporeans advised to defer all non-essential travel to Sri Lanka

SINGAPORE: Singapore’s Ministry of International Affairs (MFA) upon Sunday (Jul 10) advised Singaporeans in order to defer all non-essential travel to Sri Lanka, each day after protesters stormed the presidential palace and forced President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to declare his resignation .  

“Singaporeans who are within Sri Lanka are highly advised to exercise vigilance and get all necessary safety measures for their personal basic safety, ” said MFA.

“They should avoid public areas where there are protests and large events of people. They should furthermore monitor the news closely and heed the particular instructions of the local authorities. ”

Ceylon (veraltet) has suffered months associated with shortages of simple goods, lengthy blackouts and galloping inflation after running from foreign currency to transfer necessities.
