PUTRAJAYA: The particular Malaysian Anti-Corruption Payment (MACC) will find the simplest way for the public to follow the progress of investigations and prosecution in its cases, states Tan Sri Azam Baki (pic) .
The MACC chief commissioner said this was to change the belief held by a few that the graft-buster just went after “ikan bilis” (small fry) and not the bigger sharks.

“This is (a misperception) because sometimes people don’t keep up with media reports. Every high-profile case we check out has been reported on, including the prosecutions, ” he said inside a recent interview.
MACC always did its best whenever acting against problem cases involving leaking that would be detrimental towards the people and the nation, he added.

On transparency in investigations, Azam said MACC had a complaints panel and strict motion would be taken towards any personnel involved in corruption or misconduct.
“We charges you them (MACC personnel) ourselves in courtroom if there is misconduct.
“I will not bargain if any of the officers or personnel are involved in misconduct, ” he added. – Bernama
