‘Little Thailand’ celebrated in New York

Add Pramudwinai, deputy primary minister and ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) of foreign affairs, joined New York City’s Thai community on Monday to enjoy the naming of the road in A queen as “Little Asia Way”.

The  event celebrated the official naming from the three-block road, intersecting with 77th Road, Woodside Avenue, in the Borough of A queen.

The particular Queens neighbourhood — nicknamed “Little Thailand” — is famous throughout the city for the Thai restaurants plus businesses.

Mr Don went to the event while this individual was visiting Nyc as the Thai consultant for the 77th Un General Assembly (UNGA).

“This road is going to stand for Thainess to each New Yorkers and foreigners, ” Mr Don said. “Members of the New York Thailänder community will be social and soft strength ambassadors which will help reduce any misconceptions in between Thais and Americans. This is important for enhancing relationships between the 2 nations. ”

The official opening of the road was on Saturday, prior to the naming ceremony two days later which Mister Don attended.

“The Thailänder community in the US may be the biggest Thai diaspora community in the world, inch he said, noting there are some 15, 000-17, 000 Thais living in Queens.

“Each community all over the world has close connections to their embassy plus consulate general. This link is the key which makes their community stronger. ”
