Sixteen ‘most-wanted’ suspects nabbed in raids

Commandos arrested a boy of the late important boxing promoter Klaew Thanikul and the father of actors Nachat and Natcha Janthaphan, among 16 potential foods, in a sweep across 12 provinces the other day.

Exclusive Operations Police raided 17 locations, which includes in Bangkok, Chiang Rai, Nonthaburi and Nakhon Si Thammarat, on orders released by Pol Luxury touring Gen Jirabhop Bhuridej, commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).

Among those detained were Vorachet Janthaphan, father of the actors, and Khom Thanikul, son from the late promoter known as the “Metropolitan Godfather”.

Mr Vorachet was wanted upon charges of attempted murder and violations of the Firearms Function in connection with an attack on the truck in Nonthaburi in 2016 that caused injuries and damages.

He was arrested at the Viphawan casing estate in tambon Bang Krasor associated with Muang district, Nonthaburi.

Nachat said he had not lived with his father since the latter separated from his spouse. His father has a new family, and Nachat learned about the arrest from the information, he said.

Mr Khom, 35, was arrested in Cha-uat district in Nakhon Cuando Thammarat.

He was wanted for allegedly capturing dead Ekkarong Ruengnate at a roadside tour bus pavilion in Tha Muang district associated with Kanchanaburi in view of shocked passengers in 2019.

In Chachoengsao, commandos surrounded the house associated with murder suspect Sathaporn Khaopongchan in Beat Nam Phrieo region but he had been nowhere to be found.
