Old gaur found dead near village

NAKHON RATCHASIMA: A large man gaur was found dead near the village in Wang Nam Khieo district on Monday. It had been believed to have passed away of natural leads to.

The gaur, which weighed about 800 kilogrammes, was believed to be through Khao Phaeng Ma mountain. It was previously sighted on September 6 in bushes behind the brow at Khlong Claime village in tambon Wang Nam Khieo.

The animal looked very slim and weak, plus was walking unsteadily. On Monday, the gaur was found dead in the exact same area.

The gaur’s loss of life was reported to the Protected Area Region Office 7 in Nakhon Ratchasima.

Veterinarian Pannarai Wongwatanakij and her team were sent to the village to examine the carcass.

She stated the gaur involved 15 years old. There was no signs of its being attacked. Cracks found on the tip from the right horn had been believed to be from fights with other gaur. All hoofs were corroded, causing it in order to walk with problems.

Samples were taken from the carcass for laboratory examination and the results were expected in a week, Ms Pannarai said. The gaur most likely died from old age.

The particular carcass was later buried.
