Magnitude 6.2 earthquake strikes Papua, Indonesia, no tsunami warning

JAKARTA: An earthquake of magnitude 6th. 2 struck areas of Papua for Indonesia on Saturday (Sep 9) and has zero potential to trigger your tsunami, the country’s geophysics agency (BMKG) said.

The quake hit about 262km east-northeast of Biak on Indonesia, at a range of 16 kilometers (10 miles), BMKG reported.

There has been no immediate accounts of damage or casualties.

Earlier on Sat, quakes with variation of 6. 1, 5. 9 in addition to 5. 5 magnitude struck near the identical location.
