Marshall Islands couple extradited in bribery case

A business couple through the Marshall Islands who seem to fled to Asia in 2020 have now been extradited to the United States, where they are wanted on charges of bribing a foreign lawmaker and money laundering.

The reduction of Cary Yan and Gina Zhou under escort to the US was introduced by Jumpol Phansamrit, director-general of the Office of the Attorney-General’s Worldwide Affairs Department.

They are charged of colluding within bribery and cash laundering and were handed over to representatives of the US plus an US Marshal from Suvarnabhumi airport at 9. 30pm on Thursday.

They are accused associated with paying bribes to a state official inside a foreign country plus money laundering.

The pair allegedly bribed the lawmaker in a Pacific Ocean country to aid the enactment of laws that would benefit their businesses. Warrants for their arrest had been issued in the US. They then fled from the ALL OF US to Thailand.

Police right here arrested them upon Nov 16, 2020 and handed these to public prosecutors who seem to began extradition procedures. The court purchased their extradition upon June 30 of the year.
