Accused Kornsasi suspended: police
Senator Thani Onlaied and 2 brothers of the caretaker prime minister, Adm Sitthawat Wongsuwon and Pol Gen Patcharawat Wongsuwon, will be called for questioning in supposed connection with helping Kornsasi Buayaem and her maid get condition jobs.
Move Forward Party list MP Teerajchai Phunthumas, in his capacity as spokesman for the House committee on problem and misconduct avoidance and suppression, that will call the men, on Wednesday stated he was advised by the chairman, Pol Gen Sereepisuth Temeeyaves, to supervise the investigation.
The case was not only about the physical mistreatment but also related to prospecting by the Royal Thailänder Police and the army. He said the particular committee will request about 20 people for questioning such as the former maid which says Pol Cpl Kornsasi abused the girl.
He or she said the panel will also invite designed for questioning Mr Thani, Adm Sitthawat who will be also a senator and chairman of a lawful affairs committee of the now-defunct National Legislative Assembly (NLA), who else appointed Pol Cpl Kornsasi as an honorary adviser to the NLA committee, and Pol Gen Patcharawat who had been a member of that panel.
Mister Teerajchai said the home committee also will check out the recruitment process of Pol Cpl Kornsasi as well as the former maid.
In 2017, Ms Kornsasi had been recruited by the General Staff Division from the Special Branch Bureau of the Royal Thai Police when the lady was 39 years of age even though the maximum age group for the position had been limited to 35.
She also had a squad leader’s position and has been later transferred to Unique Branch Bureau’s first Division. Around the starting of this year, the girl was assigned to execute temporary duty on the Internal Security Functions Command (Isoc)’s Area 4 Forward Control of the Royal Thai Army.
Mr Teerajchai said the committee will also investigate Isoc’s Region 4 Forward Command, as there was simply no record of her actually performing any kind of duties there.
In this regard, the particular committee wanted to understand if the senators, law enforcement and soldiers under consideration were complicit in case, Mr Teerajchai stated.
Lately, the name of an unexplainable senator came to lighting when his name has been seen with Pol Cpl Kornsasi’s name on a list of temple donors in Ratchaburi’s Muang district. The board gave their names and talked about a 120, 000 baht donation designed for building a temple hall.
Mister Thani is also an ex member of the NLA and was also associated with the high-profile hit-and-run case of Reddish colored Bull heir Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya this year.
The former maid will be summoned next Thursday, Mister Teerajchai said.
Meanwhile, Pol Maj Gen Udon Wongchuen, commander of the Special Branch Bureau’s 1st Division, authorized an order upon Aug 26, launched on Wednesday to the media, saying Pol Cpl Kornsasi has been suspended from responsibility.
Niwatchai Kasemmongkol, secretary-general plus spokesman for the Nationwide Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), said two individuals, whose names were withheld, had submitted complaints against Senator Thani that offender him of being complicit in the case.
Mr Niwatchai said the NACC will investigate whether the senator abused power to assist Ms Kornsasi to participate the police force.
If the senator was found to get committed an offence, the matter will be submitted to the Supreme Courtroom asking that he eliminate the post.
He may also face a charge of abuse of power, he said.
