More than 100 people duped in scam dating back to 2014, say police
Consumer protection police possess arrested a 61-year-old woman suspected of selling fake air tickets worth a combined 11 mil baht to greater than a hundred victims 8 years ago.
Sukanya Pochaka has been apprehended on Sunday at an apartment in Phetkasem Soi 77 in Nong Khaem district of Bangkok. She was used into custody on charges of fake advertising and scams.
Pol Col Chetphan Kitticharoensak, chief of the Customer Protection Police Department subdivision 1, stated that between April 12 and Dec 23, 2014, the woman managed a fraudulent reservation service for surroundings tickets from top carriers through on the internet channels including email messages. More than 100 people contacted her for making bookings and even received confirmation messages declaring they had successfully purchased a ticket.
According to Pol Col Chetphan, the particular suspect received transfers totalling 11 mil baht for the seat tickets she produced, but the would-be passengers might later find them unusable on their departure day. After initially fielding queries from the customers, Ms Sukanya ultimately became uncontactable, top her victims in order to jointly file a complaint.
She was imprisoned on a warrant issued by the Criminal Courtroom.
As the suspect has so far denied the costs, police discovered another warrant against her issued in December 2014 for defrauding the public.
