SINGAPORE: The Public Service Division (PSD) announced on Friday (Aug 26) that Permanent Admin (Social and Loved ones Development) Aubeck Kam will be appointed as Permanent Secretary (Home Affairs Development) on the Ministry of House Affairs (MHA).
This comes as Mr Munch Hock Yong is going to be retiring on Nov 1 after thirty-one years in public company, said PSD in the news release.
Mr Kam will be designated concurrently to the role on the same date. He has been Permanent Admin (Social and Loved ones Development) since April 2022 .
Mister Chew, 58, joined the public program in 1991 and served in crucial roles in several ministries. He was appointed Deputy Secretary from the then Ministry associated with Community Development, Youth and Sports within 2004 and as Second Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of National Development in 2014.
Mr Chew up also assumed the role of chief executive at the Land Transportation Authority in 2010, where “he spearheaded a variety of mega transport facilities projects, improved the reliability and assistance quality of the general public transport system, plus drove industry restructuring of the public rail and bus sectors”, said PSD.
From 2016 in order to 2022, Mr Chew served as Long lasting Secretary, Ministry associated with Social and Family members Development (MSF) and 2019 was designated concurrently as Long term Secretary (Home Matters Development) at MHA.
Mr Munch was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2004 and the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 2014 for his exceptional contributions to the open public service.
Minister-in-charge of the Public Services Chan Chun Perform said, “I wish to thank Hock Yong for his many years of dedicated service.
“I would like to convey the government’s appreciation to Hock Yong for his leadership and outstanding efforts to the public program and to Singapore. ”
Mr Kam, 52, held various appointments in the Singapore Police Force, including as commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division and director of operations.
He served within the Ministry of Business and Industry, and subsequently in the Ministry of Manpower as its Deputy Secretary just before his appointment because chief executive officer of the previous Media Development Expert in 2010.
He or she was appointed Permanent Secretary (Communications plus Information) in 2012 and Permanent Secretary (Manpower) in 2016.
