LCS scandal: Finger pointed at the wrong 'Zainab Mohd Salleh' claims daughter

PETALING JAYA: A woman who have claims to be the daughter of a “Zainab Mohd Salleh”, the name of the lady implicated in the alleged misappropriation of RM9bil meant for the littoral combat ship (LCS) project, says that this woman referred to is not her mother, whom bears the same name.

Twitter consumer Syaza Nazura claimed that the “Zainab Mohd Salleh” referred to in the “Paradise Papers” information leak was not her mother, who is Discussion Group Berhad’s main financial officer and joint company secretary.

“(My mother) Zainab is married to Dr Noor Azmi Mat Adenan. Please retract your statement and problem a public apology, ” she tweeted on Monday (Aug 22).

She shared screenshots of the online portal’s news report that a “Zainab Mohd Salleh” — said to be the spouse of Mersing MEGA-PIXEL Abdul Latiff Ahmad – was the owner of a company involved with suspicious transactions related to the RM9bil agreement by Boustead Naval Shipyard (BNS) to construct the six battle ships.

PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli in a declaration on Monday acquired linked a “Zainab Mohd Salleh” to an offshore company along with units incorporated in tax havens like Malta and Labuan.

Rafizi later clarified in a twitter update that the “Zainab Salleh” he was talking about was not the Dialog CFO.

He or she also claimed that “Zainab Mohd Salleh” is the second wife of Abdul Latiff.

Abdul Latiff, who is also Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions), was quick to deny Rafizi’s states and said that Zainab was not his spouse.

“As a Cabinet minister, I am ready to give the full cooperation with the authorities in any further investigation, ” he said in a declaration on Monday.

Abdul Latiff offered as the deputy defence minister from 2008 to 2013 below Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who had been the defence minister at the time.

This individual left Umno plus joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia after the 14th General Selection.
