Southern Korea’s Yoon alerts of stern retaliation in case of North Korea’s provocation

SEOUL: Southern Korea’s President Yoon Suk-yeol ordered the military on Wed (Jul 6) to “promptly and sternly” retaliate in case of any kind of North Korean provocation amid concerns the particular North could carry out its first nuclear test in five years.

Yoon, who had taken office in May, presided over his first meeting with top army commanders and required strong capabilities in order to deter North Korea’s nuclear and missile programmes, the usa president office said.
