Johor Land to kick-start Discovery City development next year

JOHOR BARU: Johor Corp (JCorp)’s subsidiary Johor Land Bhd (JLand) is definitely planning to start the introduction of the Sedenak Technology Valley with the Breakthrough City project the coming year.

JLand professional director Mohd Yusof Ahmad said that the 325-acre (131 hectares) pilot phase advancement is expected to begin in the third quarter within Sedenak, Kulai, this individual said.

“The Discovery City will be equipped with amenities that will aid as an attraction recreation area for the Sedenak Technologies Valley.

“The Sedenak Technology Area is a 7, 290-acre (2, 950 hectares) integrated development that will incorporate digital technologies and be in line with the environment, social, and governance (ESG) principles, ” he said.

“Bandar Tiram township might find the development of 28 miles (11 hectares) of Tebing@Bandar Tiram by early 2023, emulating the nature-inspired, enterprise-friendly, and community-centric components.

“Bandar Dato’ Onn will also undergo re-master planning to boost its proposition being a wellness destination for many lifestyles and lifecycles, alongside a new growth for Green Landed Residences in 2024.

“As portion of our ESG effort, we are also targeting our townships to become certified as Low Carbon Cities with a decrease of 25% in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2025, ” he described.

JLand may also spur urban revitalization initiatives for Market Larkin, a 235-acre (95 hectares) next-generation urban hub within the Larkin District, he added.

“Key projects include the advancement Central Park, such as the commercial and store hub by the 2nd quarter of 2024, Iconic Towers, serviced apartments and little office or home office (SOHO) by the first quarter of 2025, ” said Mohd Yusof.
