Shanghai to reopen all schools Sep 1 with daily COVID-19 testing

SHANGHAI: China’s financial hub Shanghai in china said on Weekend (Aug 13) it will eventually reopen all principal, middle and higher schools, kindergartens and nurseries on Sep 1 after weeks of COVID-19 closures.

The city will require all teachers and students to consider nucleic acid testing for the coronavirus daily before leaving campus, according to a declaration published by the Shanghai in china Municipal Education Commission payment.

It also called for teachers and students to carry out a 14-day “self health management” within the city ahead of the school reopening.

Shanghai shut almost all schools in mid-March before the city’s two-month lockdown to overcome its worst COVID-19 outbreak in April and May.

This allowed some college students of high school plus middle school to return to classrooms within June while most of the rest continued home study for the remainder of the semester.
