Former Chinese tiger park official sentenced to life for accepting bribes

HONG KONG: A former mature Chinese official for any high-profile tiger plus leopard national park was sentenced to life in prison pertaining to accepting bribes of nearly 90 million yuan (US$13. three or more million), a courtroom in the northeastern state of Heilongjiang mentioned on Friday (Aug 5).

“Jing Dongwen as a state functionary, took advantage of his position to seek benefits for others and illegally accepted property, which amounted to a particularly large amount, and his behaviour constituted the particular crime of receiving bribes, ” the court said.

The Northeast Gambling and Leopard Nationwide Park started a pilot operation within January 2017 plus covers an area associated with 14, 000 sq km, according to the federal government.
