A former red-shirt chief warned on Monday that if the allegations of vote-fixing in the Senate election of last year are not thoroughly investigated, the nation could be plunged into another political problems that could lead to yet another revolution.
The alleged vote rigging in the Senate election process is a serious accusation, according to Tida Tawornseth, former head of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship ( UDD), and called for the Election Commission (EC ) to launch a full investigation.
The EC has previously made a number of errors, but it should not undermine its investigation because the disagreement could lead to a new key political issue, she said.
Ms. Tida criticized officials ‘ attempts to control the Senate, which has the authority to appoint members of separate public bodies, including the Constitutional Court, calling them against political principles.
She urged social events to take a step back and prioritize national interests in order to prevent creating problems that could be used as an justification for or the staging of a revolution. She even cautioned the defense against engaging in politics.
We’ll get in a worse position than a failed state if there is another revolution. It won’t get salvageable. This not have another, she said.
Despite joining forces to form the government, the original red-shirt chief described the current position as a turmoil of political parties.
She noted that while the ruling Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai events have a difficult social ally, she does not anticipate a possible House breakdown.
According to her, their love-hate marriage will remain until the government’s term is over, because both parties have a reason to stay in strength, she said.
Ms. Tida even made a point that former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra should not be afraid of prison because many of his supporters, including those who wear red, have already served day.
She said Thaksin won’t face the same harsh conditions as red-shirters or fresh political activists, even if he is required to serve his prison sentence.
He ought not to feel frightened. It is his area of weakness. She said,” The Corrections Hospital is the best choice.”  ,
Ms. Tida added that because the group wants to protect Thaksin, some of the Pheu Thai’s problems cannot be resolved.
