According to Industry Minister Akanat Promphan, Steel bars manufactured by the company “Sky” were also discovered in the collapsed parts of a mill building in Chon Buri.

One person was hurt and seven cars were damaged when extended walls on the next floor of Chon Buri’s Phan Thong area collapsed on Friday.

Industry Minister Akanat discovered the building materials on Friday when he posted a message on Facebook claiming that the materials involved metallic bars branded “Sky” that had been produced by Xin Ke Yuan Steel Co. These included 9mm round metal bars and 20-millimeter twisted steel bars.

According to the initial report, the building had been in operation for about three years and had been leased by Cosmo Manufacturing ( Thailand ) Co Ltd from Amata Summit Ready Built Co Ltd, according to Mr. Akanat.

Xin Ke Yuan, which was founded in 2011 and is primarily owned by nine Chinese nationals with an 80 % stake, also produced substandard steel bars in the collapsed State Audit Office ( SAO ) building in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district, which was erupted by a 7.7 magnitude earthquake on March 28.
