
On Monday, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will make an official visit to Thailand where the two nations will formally bolster their bilateral cooperation to form a proper partnership.
It will be Gen Prabowo’s second official trip to Thailand since taking office in October 2024, according to Deputy Foreign Ministry spokesman Panidone Pachimsawat, who confirmed the visit during a media briefing yesterday. Additionally, it is the first time an Indonesian leader has traveled to Thailand in 20 years.
Gen Prabowo and Paetongtarn Shinawatra are scheduled to simultaneously reveal the Thailand-Indonesia Strategic Partnership.
The agreement was reached at the joint meeting of the 10th Joint Commission in Thailand on May 2 that was co-chaired by Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa.
This browse is particularly important because it coincides with the 75th anniversary of the two countries ‘ diplomatic relations, according to Mr. Panidone.
A joint press conference, a filing of agreements and notes of knowledge, a meeting with the Thai prime minister in honor of the Indonesian group, and a dinner are included in the standard itinerary.
